We are chating with Τhanasis Atsalis, who is EU Programs Coordinator and Project Manager of DIGIMPACT, from Crowdpolicy. About the Speaker: Thanasis Atsalis is a Project Manager and researcher focused on creating positive impact through innovation and sustainability. He holds a Master’s degree in Energy Systems Management and Environmental Protection from the National Technical University of Athens and has an academic background in Economic Science from Aristotle University of Thessaloniki. His research and publications focus on fuel poverty and its effects on public health. Through collaborations with NGOs and UN-affiliated organizations, he has gained hands-on experience in understanding complex social challenges and designing practical solutions for communities. At Crowdpolicy, he leads the DIGIMPACT project, driving digital transformation and entrepreneurship in universities through the DIGIMPACT platform. We are chating with Zoe Lachana, who holds an Integrated Master’s Degree from the department of Information and Communication Systems Engineering at the University of the Aegean. About the Speaker: Dr. Zoi Lachana holds an Integrated Master’s Degree from the department of Information and Communication Systems Engineering at the University of the Aegean. She subsequently completed postgraduate studies in Technologies and Management of Information and Communication Systems, specializing in e-Government, at the same institution. In 2024, she earned her PhD, focusing on the development of a scientific foundation for Digital Governance. She is currently a Postdoctoral Researcher and Project Manager at the Information Systems Laboratory of the University of the Aegean. Since 2017, she has participated in numerous European and national research projects, including digiGov EDIH, ManyLaws, TODO Horizon Europe, and PROMETHEUS, with a particular focus on Legal Informatics, Interoperability, Open Data, and Smart Cities. About the Speaker: Aleksander Orlowski is professionally involved in research and development of the Smart City concept, co-author (2016-2017) of research on the readiness for Smart City of ten leading Polish municipal offices, author of the book: “Model of process readiness of a municipal office to reach Smart City” (2019), co-author: “Data management in cities. Manual for local governments” (2021). Local government consultant (responsible, among others, for the Smart City Program for Kielce (2023), Comprehensive diagnosis of Sopot in terms of transformation into a smart city (2023)). Sector expert 2024 (mobility in smart cities) in the European Commission’s Intelligent Cities Challenge program, advising the cities of Poznań and Gdańsk.
